Support Eco Ethical Enterprises to Alleviate Poverty in Developing Countries

Ecological Footprint

We recognise that we all have the responsibility of our individual actions and that these actions can have either a beneficial or non-beneficial impact on others and the ecosystem in which we all live. At Green Damselfly we take the ethos of ecoethical enterprises seriously and have put in place a number of systems to minimise our negative impacts and hopefully maximise the benefits to others. Green Damselfly is a new initiative and is still finding ways to improve our eco-ethical position.

Carbon Offsets

For Green Damselfly to operate there are emissions from the transportation of goods from producers to us and from us to customers. There are emissions from other vehicle use associated with the business. We avoid or reduce emissions were we can, and offset the ones we can’t through Greenfleet. Greenfleet is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping the community reduce the environmental impact of travel by biosequestration.

Solar Power

We have installed a photo-voltaic system which supplies 100% of the electrical needs of the business. Should the business grow and exceed the solar power generation we will increase the pv system accordingly.

Waste reduction

Green Damselfly minimises paper use, preferring emails where possible. We send electronic invoices unless otherwise requested. Packaging is an issue, we currently use as much recycled packaging as we have available to us and we are sourcing more appropriate packaging. We’ll make changes as we are able to access different materials. We are also sourcing more eco office paper and hopefully will have this in use soon. As much waste as possible is recycled or composted.
