Support Eco Ethical Enterprises to Alleviate Poverty in Developing Countries

About Green Damselfly

We believe in……
the power of simple choices to make a difference,
protecting and rejuvenating the environment,
taking action to reduce poverty,
supporting human rights,
handmade with heart,
profit sharing.

Many of us are concerned about global poverty, inequity and sustainability issues and are starting to create a new form of political consumerism. As conscious consumers we can make a real difference with each buying decision. Many international agencies see a significant role for craft in poverty reduction strategies, women’s income generation, enterprise development and the preservation of culture. Hand crafted products with distinctive cultural characteristics provide an opportunity for artisans in developing countries to have market leverage. If they demonstrate fair production and trading practices they can enter the international market at a time when we are all more aware of social responsibility.

Green Damselfly is committed to encouraging and supporting socially responsible shopping and to working to improve the living conditions of people in developing countries. To achieve this, we support ecoethical enterprises to bring their products to the international market. We make the rights and wellbeing of artisans central to our operation.

Welcome to Green Damselfly, we hope you enjoy your visit.
